Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using LaxLab ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

If you are using the Service on behalf of a minor (ages 13–17), you represent that you are the minor's parent or legal guardian and that you consent to these Terms on their behalf.

2. Eligibility

Minimum age: You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 13, you may not create an account, claim a profile, or submit any personal information.

Ages 13–17: You may create an account and use the Service independently. However, a parent or legal guardian must approve any purchases or paid features. Guardian approval will be requested at the time of purchase.

Ages 18+: Full access to all features, including independent purchases.

By creating an account, you represent that the information you provide is accurate, including your date of birth. Misrepresenting your age is a violation of these Terms and grounds for account termination.

3. Account Registration & Profile Claiming

Account creation: You may create an account using "Sign in with Google." You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

Profile claiming: LaxLab may display pre-populated profiles based on publicly available athletic data (team rosters, game statistics). You may "claim" a profile that belongs to you by verifying your identity through our claiming process. You may only claim a profile that is your own.

Prohibited: You may not claim, edit, or impersonate another person's profile. Doing so is a violation of these Terms and may result in permanent account suspension.

Disputes: If you believe someone has incorrectly claimed your profile, contact support@laxlab.app. We will review and resolve disputes promptly.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for its intended purpose: creating and managing your athletic recruiting profile and communicating with coaches. You may not:

• Provide false or misleading information (inflated stats, fake academic records, false identity)
• Claim a profile that does not belong to you
• Use the email features to send spam, harassment, or unsolicited commercial messages
• Use the Service to contact coaches for purposes unrelated to athletic recruiting
• Attempt to circumvent age restrictions or parental consent requirements
• Scrape, copy, or redistribute coach contact information obtained through the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its servers
• Use the Service for any illegal purpose

5. Email Communication Features

AI-assisted composition: The Service may offer AI-assisted email drafting. All AI-generated content is a suggestion only — you are responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving every email before it is sent. The AI does not send emails without your explicit action.

Gmail integration: If you authorize Gmail access, emails are sent from your personal Gmail account. You are responsible for the content of emails sent through the Service. LaxLab is not responsible for responses, non-responses, or consequences resulting from emails you send.

Email tracking: The Service may include tracking features (open detection, link click tracking) in emails you send. By using the email features, you acknowledge that these tracking mechanisms will be included. Recipients are not individually notified of tracking but this practice is disclosed in our Privacy Policy.

Rate limits: To prevent misuse, we may limit the number of emails you can send per day.

6. Coach Directory

The Service may provide a directory of coach contact information compiled from publicly available sources. This information is provided for the sole purpose of athletic recruiting communication. You may not:

• Download, export, or scrape the coach directory in bulk
• Use coach contact information for any purpose other than legitimate athletic recruiting
• Share coach contact information with third parties
• Send unsolicited commercial messages to coaches

7. Content You Provide

Your content: You retain ownership of content you upload (photos, videos, bio text). By uploading content, you grant LaxLab a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display that content on your profile page for the purpose of the Service.

Accuracy: You represent that all information you provide (stats, academic records, personal information) is truthful and accurate. Providing false or misleading information to coaches may violate NCAA, NAIA, or other governing body rules and is solely your responsibility.

Removal: You may remove your content at any time by editing your profile or deleting your account.

8. Pre-Populated Profile Data

LaxLab may display profiles containing publicly available athletic data (names, teams, statistics, game records) sourced from league websites, official rosters, and public box scores. This data is factual and publicly available.

If you wish to have a pre-populated profile removed, contact support@laxlab.app and we will remove it within 7 business days.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee:

• That coaches will respond to your emails
• That email tracking data is 100% accurate (due to email client limitations)
• That AI-generated email content is appropriate for every situation
• That the Service will be available without interruption

LaxLab is a communication tool. We do not provide recruiting advice, make recruiting decisions, or guarantee athletic scholarships or admissions.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LaxLab shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to: lost recruiting opportunities, miscommunication with coaches, or inaccurate tracking data.

11. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, including:

• Impersonating another person
• Sending spam or harassing messages to coaches
• Providing false age information
• Any other violation of these Terms

Upon termination, your profile will be removed and your data deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. For users under 18, we will notify the parent/guardian email on file of significant changes.
